IELTS on Paper or Computer

You now have the choice of taking IELTS on paper or on computer in several locations.

IELTS on Paper

If you select this option, you will answer the Listening, Reading and Writing sections on a paper. The Speaking test will be carried out either through In-Person or Video-Call with a trained IELTS Examiner.

IELTS on Computer

If you select this option, you will take the Listening, Reading and Writing sections on a computer. The Speaking test will remain face-to-face setting, it will be carried out either through In-Person or Video-Call with a trained IELTS Examiner.

The Listening, Reading and Writing sections of all IELTS tests (Paper or Computer-delivered) are completed on the same day. The Speaking test, however, can be completed up to a week before or after the other tests.

What is new about IELTS on computer?

  • Faster results – your IELTS results will be available 1-3 days* after the test
    * Results for IELTS on computer are usually available in 1-3 days after you finish all components of your test. Please note that if the result release day falls on a weekend or a public holiday, the test report form (TRF) will be distributed on the next working day.
  • More test sessions – test sessions available throughout the week
  • More Speaking test timeslots – speaking timeslots available on the same day for selection
  • Last-minute test registration – registration will only close 3 days before the test date, subject to seats availability
  • Speaking test will remain to be graded by a trained IELTS Examiner
  • Listening – headphones will be provided for the Listening test
